When death comes knocking at the door, Claire’s job is to help terminally ill patients welcome it into their lives. Her world shifts dramatically when her hospice is acquired by Reverie, a company dedicated to transform this experience by offering a subscription service that uses AI to allow families to interact with their loved ones after their passing. Now she is confronting a future where technology blurs the lines between memory and existence.
True to her professional ethics and personal values, she tries to resist these changes, entering into a conflict with Simon, the company’s charismatic CEO. However, this puts her at risk of losing her job —and her work visa—, which would mean having to leave Canada and no longer being able to support her terminally ill mother back in her home country.
